4 ways to avoid insurance salespeople

You're walking around the mall and suddenly a wild insurance salesperson appears! You know how annoying they can be especially when they block your way and shove their papers and items down your throat.

You know them, they group around a table baring their company name and with papers in hand, they will approach you, take your time and sell you their insurance packages. I know they are just doing their job and hoping to make a sale, but dude! I'm going to approach you if I'm interested (not to mention that most insurance companies are scams or have the potential to go bankrupt). I know a person who couldn't say no and ended up wasting 40 minutes listening to their product presentation.

I had the idea of writing this because I noticed how these people react differently with just a little bit of strategy.

1. Wear simple clothes: When you appear oh so professional-looking, they will flock you like house flies swarming fresh meat. But when you just wear short pants and t-shirt, you have a good 70-80% chance they won't come near you. 

Yesterday my boyfriend and I were supposed to go jogging but it rained so hard. So we decided to just walk around the mall. With our rugged outfits and shorts, none of these salespeople approached us! Woohoo!

2. Look for another route: If you have another way, go to the other fork in the road. Avoid them if you can.

3. If #2 is too troublesome, just walk fast and avoid eye contact. I ignore them if I can't help it.

4. If you're too nice to do #3, hold up your hand and say 'no thank you'

So yeah, these tips don't just apply to insurance salespeople, but also to those annoying MLM people recruiting you to their pyramid scheme. No offence, but it's just really a matter of respect.
